What is legal aid?
Legal aid is government funding to pay for legal help for people who cannot afford a lawyer. It exists to help people who cannot afford legal help.
You can apply for legal aid even if you are not a New Zealand citizen.
Family court applications that are not funded by legal aid
Legal Aid is available to eligible people for all Family Court cases, except dissolution of marriage (divorce).
