Who is protected by a
protection order?

A Protection Order will protect the applicant (i.e. the person who applied for the Protection Order) and any children who usually live with the applicant.

A Protection Order can also protect other people who have experienced domestic violence from the respondent (i.e. alleged perpetrator) because of their relationship with you. These people will be named in the Protection Order with you.
